Lisa Shaylor

Home Manager

Lisa joined the Chestnut Court team in February 2016, initially working nights as a Team Leader. She has now taken on the role of Home Manager at Chestnut Court. She works hard to be supportive to residents, their family and friends and is on hand for a chat if there are any concerns.

Lisa will always go the extra mile. She has grown in confidence since progressing to the role of Home Manager, she values the support she receives from the team at Chestnut Court and the Business Support Centre.

Lisa has a bit of a sweet tooth and readily admits that her weakness is chocolate cakes and biscuits.

Emma Wilson

Home Administrator/Domestic

Emma splits her time between her role as Home Administrator and working within the domestic team. She plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the home through both the administrative and domestic support she provides.

Emma worked for a major retailer for eight years, before leaving in 2013 to pursue a new career in care at Chestnut Court. Emma was pleased she made the move to Chestnut Court, which she’s found very friendly, and special in the way we care for the elderly.

Emma has completed both an NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping and an NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service.

Daniel Thorne

Domestic

Prior to working at Chestnut Court Daniel worked in fast food and pub restaurants but has found working at Chestnut Court has given him a much better work/life balance, which makes it a pleasure for him to come to work each day.

Daniel told us:  “I really enjoy coming to work, It’s just like being at home and cooking in your own kitchen I’ve got to say it’s the nicest job I have ever had.  We are just like one big happy family and everyone works well together to achieve the best for the residents.    The management team are very supportive, encouraging and down to earth you can have a laugh and joke with them, it makes for a very friendly place to work.  I have been encouraged to progress, and been given the training required for the role”

Pam Hopkins

Health Care Assistant [Nights]

Pam is our longest serving member of staff at Chestnut Court.  Pam has worked in care since leaving school at the age of 16, getting the urge to work in care when she undertook work experience in a care home. Pam has many years’ experience delivering care to the elderly.

Pam told us: “I really enjoy interacting with the residents and making a difference to their daily lives, this is helped by the environment at Chestnut Court which is friendly and homely.

I have been given many opportunities to improve my knowledge and achieved a NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care. Chestnut Court encourages you to do your best and supports you to develop your career if you wish to do so”.

Gibin Benny Jacob

Senior Care Assistant

Gibin is one of the Senior Care Assistants at Chestnut Court, he has been working at the home since the end of 2021. In 2019 Gibin moved to UK to complete his postgraduate studies in engineering, whilst studying at university he also worked as a health care assistant. In 2021 Gibin graduated from university and joined the team here at Chestnut Court.

In his daily activities at the home Gibin takes care of many important tasks including writing and reviewing care plans, monitoring patients’ vital signs (like blood pressure and heart rate), completing patient medication records and keeping families up to date about their relative’s progress. Along with his fellow seniors, he is also responsible for supervising a team of care assistants ensuring their daily tasks are being carried out correctly. Gibin told us “I really enjoy working at Chestnut Court.”

Archana Geetha

Senior Care Assistant

Archana joined Chestnut Court in August 2021 as a Senior Care Assistant. Archana has had a very varied career, she completed her post-graduation studies in Mathematics and then in 2015 worked in a cooperative bank as Branch Manager. In 2020 she attended the University of Northampton to complete her master’s in business administration, as well as studying for a level 3 qualification in adult social care.

Before joining the team at Chestnut Court, Archana worked at St Matthews Healthcare in Northampton as a Care Assistant. Archana told us “Working in the health and social care field is my passion. I am happy to get a chance to work with the team at Chestnut Court. I love working as a senior carer because I like to care and support residents and their loved ones in the difficult time in their lives.”

Jackson Pereira

Senior Care Assistant

Jackson is a Senior Care Assistant at Chestnut Court Care Home, he joined the team at the start of 2023. Before joining Beritaz Care Jackson worked in another area of the care industry, providing support to people with learning difficulties and other complex needs.

As a Senior Care Assistant, Jackson helps the residents with their daily needs such a personal care tasks, mealtimes, medication administration, risk management plans and updating care reports, as well as many other important tasks.

“I have always been passionate about helping people who need extra support when they are unable to fully care for themselves, enabling them to live full lives. I really enjoy my job at Chestnut Court, seeing that the residents are happy and content with the support they are receiving and the care I help to provide is the best part of my role.”

Nalayini Vijayakumar

Care Assistant

Nalayini Vijayakumar is a Care Assistant at Chestnut Court, having joined the team in November 2021. Nalayini completed her master’s degree in computer science in her home country and had previously worked as a teacher. In 2021 she moved to UK to study again for her master’s degree, attending university in Bournemouth. Originally, she started working part-time at Chestnut Court while studying for her degree and has now joined as a full-time care assistant.

Nalayini told us “I feel very proud to work at Chestnut Court, I love my job and like being part of the team here at the home. I find helping the residents very rewarding and like to make a positive difference to their life. I have recently been involved in the minibus trips with the residents and this was particularly enjoyable. I like to see the residents enjoying themselves on outings of their choice.”

Natasha Chido Chirimumvura

Care Assistant

Natasha has been working as a Care Assistant at Chestnut Court since August 2022, having previously worked at a nursing home for elderly people and at a children’s home in Zimbabwe. Natasha is passionate about working in the care industry; “I have always been keen to work within the care industry as I enjoy helping people, providing them support when they can’t do things for themselves and helping them to feel independent.”

Natasha’s role at Chestnut Court involves supporting the residents with their personal care, assisting them at mealtimes and helping them to take part in fun and stimulating activities. She also writes up daily reports about the care and support provided to the residents. Natasha told us “I really enjoy every aspect of my job, I find the work fulfilling and enjoy learning new things every day.”

Jessymol Cheripurathu George

Care Assistant

Jessymol joined the team at Chestnut Court as a Care Assistant in October 2022. In her role as Care Assistant, Jessymol supports the residents with their every day needs and ensures they are well cared for. She enjoys helping the residents to feel content and comfortable, supporting them to live as independently as possible.

Jessymol had previously worked at a nurse in India for more that 15 years before coming to the UK, so has lots of experience caring for those in need. She enjoys the spirit of teamwork that is evident at the home, it is a positive environment to work in and she enjoys spending time with her fellow team members and the residents each day. Working at Chestnut Court, Jessymol appreciates the training provided and opportunities for career progression.

Nadine Gray

Healthcare Assistant

Nadine took on the role of Healthcare Assistant at Chestnut Court towards the end of 2022. Her job involves providing the residents with personal care, assisting those that need help at mealtimes, giving physical support to those that have poor mobility, helping to serve meals throughout the day and receiving residents’ relatives when they visit the home.

“I enjoy working with the rest of the team here at Chestnut Court, they feel like my family now as I spend so much time with them. I am very grateful for the kindness and support they have all shown me, particularly during my initial transition into the role and working for Beritaz Care. My favourite part about my job is doing activities with the residents and seeing their enjoyment whilst taking part in activities.”
