“I really enjoy being part of the Robertson Nursing Home and Beritaz Care team. It makes such a difference when you are welcomed into a friendly, warm atmosphere.”

Hi, I’m Evelina and I am the Home Administrator at Robertson Nursing Home.

I have been working for Robertson since January 2013 so have been a member of the team for more than ten years now. I had studied law in Romania before the opportunity came up to come to England to work in the care industry, which was a new challenge for me. I have a caring nature and it was not difficult to understand the challenges of working within this industry, but it was an experience I was keen to have.

I had to leave my comfort zone and adapt to a new society, learn a new language and find my way around. This made me stronger and more open-minded by challenging my ideas and forcing me into new experiences. This also gave me the opportunity to meet people from different cultures, which made me see things from different points of view and build a global attitude.

Before coming to Robertson Nursing Home I spent a year working in domiciliary care and had started to build my knowledge of the care industry. I joined Robertson as part of the care team so have an in-depth knowledge of how the home operates, which is a great asset in my current role as Home Administrator, a position I took on in September 2022.

My job involves supporting the Home Manager and the Support Manager in the efficient and effective running of the home. We are always working to uphold the core values (Caring, Trusting, Choices) and high standards expected by Beritaz Care and the Care Quality Commission. My favourite part of the job is making sure the payroll system is accurate and being there to assist the staff whenever they need support.

I really enjoy being part of the Robertson Nursing Home and Beritaz Care team. It makes such a difference when you are welcomed into a friendly, warm atmosphere. All the staff are very supportive, especially Gabi the Home Manager, who is by far the kindest person I have had the chance to work with. Everyone has the opportunity for professional development and are given so much support by management.

I enjoy working together with the rest of the team as we know each other well from my time being part of the care team. I like to make sure I am approachable and that every member of staff knows I am happy to help whenever needed.

There has been lots of nice moments throughout the years I have spent working at Robertson and many wonderful memories. I remember when we all sang a nice song for our residents’ families during the pandemic, that was a very emotional moment that always stays with me.
